SUPPORTING LOCAL
FOOD BANKS

Our model is simple. We contact the food banks to find out the ideal quantities of the essential items they most urgently need before they next open. We shop for those items, and drop them.

OUR HOPES FOR THE FUTURE

Our Collective's aim is to end the hunger suffered by too many people deprived of weekly essentials.

Logistically, we can now Shop & Drop every week in our existing four neighbourhoods. New funds will enable us to continue at this frequency and expand our foodbank footprint.

HOW IT WORKS

Our hands on approach has enabled us to develop trusting relationships with the people running the food banks. Talking to their wonderful managers and volunteers, we are confident that we operate in a way that really suits them. For fairness, each package given to their clients comprises the same basic items. This can’t be done with random items donated at supermarkets. We deliver approximately 400 items per drop. These items vary, but large quantities of tinned fish, pasta, rice, milk, cooking oil, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, cereal and pasta sauce are repeatedly requested.

We liaise with local food banks to find out what they most need
